Match the weight to the exposure
Outdoor banners face wind, sunlight and handling, so material weight matters. Lighter 260-280g knitted fabrics are easier to hang and cheaper to ship, while heavier 320-400g options offer better stiffness for long-span installations.
For frontlit applications printed on UV or latex machines, choose a printable surface that holds ink without warping under curing temperatures.
Welding versus non-welding
Knitted polyolefin fabrics can be high-frequency welded for strong, sealed seams. Woven constructions generally cannot be welded, so plan eyelets or stitching for those.
Confirm ink compatibility — eco-solvent, UV and latex — before committing a large run.
